More Celebrity Cousins

In the past 2 days, while business is a bit slow, I've managed to discover 2 more celebrity distant cousins, both of whom I spent hours watching on TV during my youth.

My first discover was Parker Stevenson who played the elder of the 2 brothers (the other being Shaun Cassidy) in the 1977-1979 production of The Hardy Boys, part of the ABC program The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. This was one of my favourite shows and one that I rarely missed.

Parker Stevenson is actually the stage name of Richard Stevenson Parker, my 19th paternal cousin once removed. In addition to playing Frank in The Hardy Boys, Parker Stevenson has had roles in numerous other film and television roles dating back to 1972. To me though, when I hear "Parker Stevenson", I immediately think of his iconic role in The Hardy Boys.

Parker is also well known for his marriage to the late actress, Kirstie Alley. They were married on December 22, 1983 and divorced in 1997. Parker remarried in 2018, marrying celebrity chef Lisa Schoen.

My next celebrity distant cousin is someone that I've "known" for as long as I can remember, and someone who everyone that grew up in the late 1960's through the 1980's (and maybe even today) will know - Ann B. Davis. Ann played the kind hearted housekeeper, Alice, on The Brady Bunch which ran from 1969 through 1974, and then with several TV movies that followed the end of the original show in 1981, 1988 and 1990. Ann also had a cameo in the movie spoof The Brady Bunch Movie which came out in 1995.

Ann's portrayal of Alice had millions of kids all over the globe wishing that they had a housekeeper like her to come home to every day. Alice never got angry, and her character's good natured demeanour and skills in the kitchen kept the Brady family well fed and happy. Sure, it was only TV, but there was something appealing to the show, especially when we were younger.

So these are my 2 special discoveries for the week, and it's only Tuesday!
