Kevin Bacon

Kevin Norwood Bacon,
paternal 9th cousin, 2x removed.

Kevin Bacon is the 2nd major celebrity that I have discovered is a distant relative of mine. My 10th Great Grandparents, John Stiles Sr. and Rachel Jane Talcot, were also Kevin's 8th Great Grandparents. Kevin descends through Isaac Stiles, younger brother of my 9th Great Grandfather, John Stiles Jr.

Kevin Bacon is extremely well known as an A-list Hollywood actor. Kevin was born on July 8th, 1958 and was the 2nd of 3 children. Kevin started his professional acting career at age 17 when he left his home in Philadelphia to pursue acting in New York City, appearing in a production at the Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Kevin appeared in the cult classic Animal House (1978), Friday the 13th (1980), Forty Duece (1982) and appeared on stage on Broadway in Getting Out (1982) along with Val Kilmer and Sean Penn, both unknowns at the time.

Kevin first made a noticeable impression on both film critics and moviegoers in the movie Diner (1982) starring alongside Steve Guttenberg, Daniel Stern, Mickey Rourke, Tim Daly and Ellen Barkin.

In 1984, Kevin landed the starring role in Footloose, one of his most iconic movie roles.

Throughout the 1990's, Kevin starred in numerous movies, including Tremors (1990), Flatliners (1990), JFK (1991), A Few Good Men (1992), Apollo 13 (1995) and 13 other movies. Kevin has appeared in over 85 movies and TV programs according to his page on IMDb.

Kevin's acting talent has allowed him to successfully play a diverse group of characters, from comedic to dramatic.

Kevin has always been one of my favourite actors with his ability to bring to life each character in a realistic manner even if the plotline hasn't always been the best.

Although I will probably never actually meet Kevin Bacon or his siblings, they are an integral part of my family history. Yet another fascinating relative in my increasingly interesting family story.
