How My Family Helped Albert Einstein Escape The Nazis

In September, 1933, my cousin, Lady Charlotte Christian Bruce's (Lady Locker) stepson, Oliver Sterlingfleet Locker Lampson, helped Albert Einstein escape from Europe and provided him with refuge at a camp near his home in Norfolk, England.

Oliver was a noted military leader during WWI and was posted in Russia and had ties to the infamous murder of Rasputin and witnessed first hand the Bolshevik revolution in October, 1917.

In addition to rescuing Einstein and ensuring the safety of one of our greatest minds of the twentieth century, Oliver also gave safe passage to Sigmund Freud and numerous other "ordinary" Jews, saving them from certain death at the hands of the Nazis.

Read about this interesting relative on my new Albert Einstein page.
