Another Governor General & A Duke

This has been a busy week for me as I am currently in Shanghai on business. However, I have made some time to continue my family research and have looked into the interesting past of my 5th cousin's father in law, His Grace the 9th Duke of Devonshire and the 11th Governor General of Canada, Victor Cavendish.

Victor had his hand in several interesting historical events, including the 1917 Conscription Crisis of Canada, the Halifax Explosion of the same year, and supporting African rule in Kenya to protect the interests of the Africans, not just the white settlers.
