During my years of research I have had the pleasure of discovering that many of my ancestors have lived in historically significant homes. As a history buff, and a family history buff, being able to match some of the UK's well known estates and castles with family members was a very pleasant surprise.

A number of these magnificent places still exist, some still remain in my extended family while others have been turned into hotels, museums and protected historical sites.
